Annie & Nick - one of our FAVORITE weddings ever!

Photography :: Recherche Photography

Let me start by saying that Annie and Nick (and Annie's Mom Missy) are hands down some of our best clients EVER. They were so lovely, laid back, easy to work with and gracious. So many wonderful qualities. Don't get me wrong, our clients, Calluna clients are incredible, but Annie, Nick and Missy have set the bar high. They were so happy and easy to please it made all of us want to work that much harder for them. When it rained on the wedding day and their dreams of an outdoor ceremony were crushed they went with it and took everything in stride. Nothing could hinder their happiness and excitement on the day of their marriage.

Another reason this wedding is one of my favorites is ALMOST every vendor at this wedding was a vendor at my OWN wedding. Sure I provided the recommendations, and several in each category, but Annie ended up picking nearly every vendor I selected. Enjoy this beautiful wedding photographed by the multi-talented Regina Mountjoy from Recherche Photography.

Due to weather we moved the ceremony inside the ballroom at the St. Julien and we couldn't have been happier with how Denver Design Works transformed this space! It was almost better than it would have been outside.

The lovely, beautiful and talented Jessica Shinyeda of The Face Lab transforms Annie into a blushing bride! Jessica has worked on most of Calluna's clients.

Andy Mendoza of Andres Alfredo is the ultimate hair stylist. He's so good that I don't recommend anyone else. He does all of my brides hair (as well as my own).

Ahh, Annie, you're so gorgeous!

Annie and Missy, my favorite wedding Bride and MOB pair! So awesome I want to hang out with them and get a glass of wine!

The stunning flowers were designed and provided by Brighter Day Floral, a Boulder based florist.

A classic Recherche shot!

A post ceremony moment with Heather Dwight of Calluna Events and the bride and groom.

And again for the reception, Denver Design Works transformed the ballroom at the St. Julien like I've never seen it before. Draping and lushness galore.

Cake by Tee and Cakes a Boulder wedding baker. Flowers of course by Brighter Day Floral.

Thanks as always for reading!

Fall is in the air - September wedding at Devil's Thumb Ranch

Devil's Thumb Ranch :: A true Colorado wedding venue

Looking at the Ranch House Restaurant, the Timber House and the Broad Axe Barn on the property at Devil's Thumb Ranch.

View of the wedding ceremony site, before the festivities began.

This past weekend I spent time up at Devil's Thumb Ranch and was reminded of why I live in the state of Colorado and why I love Colorado mountain weddings. Fall is incredible here - the contrast of blue sky against a mountain backdrop, warm days and crisp nights, the yellowing of aspen trees.

Devil's Thumb Ranch is one of my favorite venues in the state for a Colorado wedding. In Tabernash, Colorado, the ranch is set against 5,000 acres of pristine mountains with acres of trails to hike, ride or ski.

I was able to work with one of my favorite photographers, Jenna Walker Photography and I can't wait to see her images from Ashley & Nic's wedding.

Thanks for reading! and stay tuned for photos from this weekend!

We love kudos!

This past weekend we were lucky to work with an incredible team of vendors on Rachel & Dave's wedding at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder, Colorado.

We received not one, but two post wedding emails from vendors we worked with over the weekend. We LOVE hearing great things from our wedding vendor partners. It's really because of them that we are so successful at what we do - plan and execute smooth, stress-free weddings for our clients.
Hey Heather,

On behalf of the Groove Nation Orchestra I just want to take a moment to say how much we enjoyed partnering with you at Rachel & Dave's wedding. Your hospitality was much appreciated and it was great to work with a planner who was organized and yet laid back! That’s a rare combination in this business....

Let’s do this again!

All the Best,
Dave DeMichelis Celebration Nation Entertainment
Director of Musical Services

Hello Heather,Once again, let me says thanks for being a fabulous wedding planner. Your assistant Gabbie too. Please tell her we appreciated her too. Having you as the planner takes away lots of stress from the vendors, believe me. We have had some doozie planners.........Deb E. Corisis
